MultiPhase

MultiPhase

Product description

As with the Booster converter, the MultiPhase converter can supply power to many machines. A MultiPhase converter recognises starting load motors and generates the high starting currents to let a load motor start up fast. The important difference between Booster and MultiPhase is that a MultiPhase contains a second set of electronics to keep the output voltages symmetrical at all load conditions. For seizing, we recommend selecting a MultiPhase converter that has the kW output capacity of all simultaneously running load motors or at least 20% larger than the largest single load motor, whichever is greater.

Product specifications

Three version are for a supply voltage of 230 V single-phase or for 400V two-phase or for 460V split-phase supply. The three-phase output voltages are well balanced 400V for all machines equipped with motors or VFDs/VSDs or for CNC machines. The phase separation of 120 degrees and pure sine waves ensure best possible performance of all connected machines. Digital instruments provide information on output voltage and current. Power options are 8kW, 12kW, 16kW, 24kW and 32kW.
A MultiPhase converter offers a continuous load duty cycle of 100% or full load continuously.

During a load motor start-up, the MultiPhase supplies up to 400 % power until the load motor has reached full speed, or for up to five seconds. The special electronics keep output voltages within a tight + - 4% between phases. This is important for voltage-sensitive CNC machines or for VFD/VSD inverters. The use of robust thyristors and selected high-voltage capacitors ensures a long service life.
